"The perfect song for Christmas 2020" – James Corden

UK Duo Smith & Burrows (Editors / ex-Razorlight) Perform Their Christmas Classic "When The Thames Froze" On The Late Late Show w/ James Corden

New Album 'Only Smith & Burrows Is Good Enough' Due Out Feb 19 On [PIAS] Recordings

Last night London-based duo Smith & Burrows (Tom Smith / Editors & Andy Burrows / ex-Razorlight / We Are Scientists) met with James Corden on the Late Late Show to perform their Christmas Classic "When The Thames Froze".

Described by Corden as "The perfect song for Christmas 2020", the song features on their 2011 album 'Funny Looking Angels' and poignantly sums up what has been the most challenging of years with its uplifting refrain of: "the years go by so fast, let’s hope the next beats the last".
The TV appearance precedes their forthcoming new album that reunites the pair some ten years after its predecessor and, despite the time lapse, the pair have continued to write and demo various tracks for its follow-up whilst working on their own projects. Multi-instrumentalist Smith fronting stadium-dwelling Editors whilst the similarly multi-facetted Burrows has added soundtrack and film assignments to an already varied CV which includes work with Golden Globe award-winning comedian Ricky Gervais amongst others.
