SNO BABIES  depicts the grim realities of addiction and its effects on a middle-class suburban town. Kristen and Hannah are best friends–smart, likable and college-bound– and also addicted to heroin. The pair of seemingly unlikely addicts spiral down a path of destruction, hiding their secret from well-meaning but busy parents behind pink bedrooms and school uniforms  SNO BABIES  shows how easy it can be to both miss and hide the signs of addiction behind the façade of “good” neighbourhoods and pleasant busy communities

SNO BABIES  and  “Maybe Its Time”  are the cornerstone of an industry-wide initiative to draw attention to the  Opioid crisis  and raise funds to serve the Recovery community and save lives. Timed to launch National Recovery Month in September, this campaign leverages all manners of entertainment to send an important message of hope in recovery. Better Noise Films’ share of profits is being donated to The Global Recovery Initiatives Foundation ( GRI).  In addition, all artist royalties from the soundtrack are being donated to  GRI  with matching contribution by Better Noise Music.

SNO BABIES FILM SYNOPSIS

A gripping and emotive tale,  Sno Babies  depicts the grim realities of addiction and its effects on a middle-class suburban town. Kristen and Hannah are best friends–smart, likable and college-bound– and also addicted to heroin. The pair of seemingly unlikely addicts spiral down a path of destruction, hiding their secret from well-meaning but busy parents, behind pink bedrooms and school uniforms.  Sno Babies  shows how easy it can be to both miss and hide the signs of addiction behind the guise of “good” neighbourhoods and pleasant, busy communities.

The Global Recovery Initiatives Foundation ( GRI)

GRI is the first and only national community foundation dedicated to funding critical support services for people in need who are in early recovery from substance use disorders (SUD).

GRI supports evidence-based programs that have demonstrated success in:

• Lowering reuse rates;

• Reducing the stigma around substance use disorder; and

• Creating greater access to services and opportunities for people in recovery.

Recovery is the least funded  and least understood,  yet most critical aspect to improving quality of life and fostering growth and development for individuals with substance use disorders.

There is a Myth that recovery does not last – there are currently 22 million people living in the U.S. in long-term recovery today.

Stigma prevents people from accessing help – GRI fights stigma to show benefits of lasting, long term recovery.

Better Noise Entertainment CEO Allen Kovac and artist Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue and Sixx:AM are GRI’s board members

September is National Recovery Month, 8/31 is International Overdose Awareness Day and 9/30 is International Recovery Day
