Growing up in Asia makes for an interesting start in country music, but Hong Kong native Disha has been building a name for herself since the age of six. Growing up in a musical family, Disha found her influence in her grandfather, with whom she would constantly sing along to country tunes. Lyrics from the likes of Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, and Loretta Lynn spoke to her and her passion for music blossomed.

Disha has found herself at the heart of the Hong Kong music scene from a very young age. She started off as a core cast member on Scotty & Lulu, an award-winning children’s musical show that launched in Hong Kong but took off worldwide. She is a winner of the city’s Encore singing competition; a four-time winner of Hong Kong’s Star Search; a long-time member of the exclusive Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation; and served as the leader of Hong Kong’s Circle In The Water’s chamber choir for five years.

At the age of 18, Disha moved to the United States to further her education. Throughout this time, she jumped into Music City’s songwriting community, spending her time writing with hit songwriters such as Jane Bach (Reba McEntire’s “Last One to Know”) and Kirsti Manna (Blake Shelton’s “Austin”). In 2018, Disha was invited to collaborate with Future Sunsets, a multi-instrumentalist who is currently dominating in the YouTube and mainstream music scene.

2019 has been a year of growth and inspiration as she launches her newest single “Mine to Write,” a powerful anthem for the girls which was inspired from one of her favorite artists, Natasha Bedingfield.

"Mine to Write" is about not letting anyone or anything get in the way of paving your own path and following your dreams. Whether it’s conquering something no one else thinks you will or whether it’s closing a chapter and writing someone out of your life to make yourself a happier and healthier person. “On a bad day, I find myself blasting this song and singing it at the top of my lungs, there’s something super empowering about voicing to the word that you’re starting fresh and that no one is going to get in your way. You are a connoisseur of your life, the pen is in your hand and the story is yours to write.”
