New Single from Adeem the Artist

Adeem recently placed as one of six songwriters in the Tennessee Songwriter’s Competition hosted by NSAI and the Bluebird Café. He’s now releasing his first single exploring the cultural and personal impacts of the global pandemic with a lighthearted smirk & a subtle aside directed towards our shared trauma.

The showcase at the Bluebird Café will be rescheduled. The video for the new single Pandemic Days received over 15,000 views and it’s received heavy airplay on WUTK and WDVX in Knoxville, TN as well as Sirius XM Outlaw Country, Americana Boogie Radio, KBCS, KCMP: The Current, Roots Radio, MPR, Know-FM, and WCUW Community Radio.

Bio

Adeem the Artist is a seventh-generation Carolinian, a makeshift poet, singer-songwriter, storyteller, and blue-collar Artist. He began toiling at his instrument in 2002 when his family relocated to Syracuse, NY and used songwriting as a vehicle with which to process the ensuing culture shock, his faith, and later his journey through apostasy.

Blending a homegrown affection for Country Music with the emotional turmoil of alternative folk in the early aughts, he has created a unique brand of Americana that pays homage to John Prine and John Darnielle (of The Mountain Goats) in equal parts. Imbued with the ancestral traces of southern music and colored by a palette ranging from lo-fi anti-folk to post-punk, the songs traverse the vast compass of human emotion.
