"’twelvefour’ triumphantly breaks from it’s own restraints, optimistically and confidently pushing towards the impending sunrise…" – Rolling Stone Australia

Australia’s The Paper Kites craft a delicate yet dynamic album full of color and sound that properly captures the band’s evolution. The album is a mix of soulful storytelling and smooth synth moments. Determined to capture a bigger and bolder sound, the group travelled to Seattle to record with Grammy-nominated producer, Phil Ek (Father John Misty, Manchester Orchestra, Fleet Foxes).

Written entirely between midnight and four in the morning, twelvefour is a concept record that explores the theory that an artist’s creative peak lays within these hours. For two sleepless months lead singer/guitarist Sam Bentley worked, reversing his sleep patterns and penning 30 songs in his home studio. "I got to the end and thought, I’m never doing that again," Sam laughs.
