Meaning Behind The Song:

In the world today, there are lots of examples where a person has hit rock bottom, and risen out of the ruins of what they thought was their shattered life. In this process, they overcome a trial that caused them to have a great revelation. A person may rise above their addictions as a new person, but they still have scars and baggage that they carry around the rest of their life. Their recovery makes a great testimony that speaks to those who are dealing with the same issues, and the hope of redemption is the main message of their story. We wrote Twisted Humanity for all of those who are listening who have not hit rock bottom. They’re the "good kids" who aren’t coming out of a life dealing with drugs, alcohol, sex and partying. The message that Twisted Humanity promotes is that you don’t need to put yourself into that harmful lifestyle to have a "life story." God can use anyone for His work, not just those that might have a "big" story. Lives that aren’t broken can be used to tell a great story. We as GFM wanted to reach out to all of the people who don’t have scars yet, and it is our hope that, through Twisted Humanity, they won’t develop those harmful and destructive habits that will create scars in their lives. It is our hope that they will understand that they are worth more than they will ever know, and that they don’t need to be broken to be used by God.

Bio:

Gold Frankincense & Myrrh is a new breed rising; an all-female Beautycore band comprised of a trio of sisters, commonly referred to as GFM. Hailing from Jacksonville, Florida, GFM infuses positive, youthful energy into traditional metal styling. They have introduced a new genre to the music world by the name of Beautycore, which is a mix of hard rock and metalcore, played exclusively by women, and have coined the phrase "we are a new breed rising" from their song Graveyard of Identities.

The group began touring in 2014, and since then, GFM has been sought out for both Christian and general market events, playing festivals and traditional venues and the Axes and Anchors Cruise, which hosted artists such as Motionless in White, Breaking Benjamin, and Demon Hunter.

GFM was a part of Summer RockFest Tour 2017 with Seventh Day Slumber, Random Hero, Scarlet White, and The Protest, and participated in the SoulStock Festival, Rock the Tarmac Festival, Kingdom Bound Festival, and Soul Fest Festival. They are scheduled for Summer RockFest 2018 with Seventh Day Slumber, Spoken, Random Hero, Zahna, and Amongst the Giants, as well as Rock Fest 2018 (Cadott, WI) and Loud & Proud Fest 2018 (Germany), Showdown Festival 2018, Cruxificed 2018, Guardians of the Children Festival 2018, and SoulFest 2018.

Eighteen-year-old CJ shines as the band’s lead guitarist and shares vocals with seventeen-year-old Maggie, who rocks dual instruments on bass and keys. The youngest of the group, fourteen-year-old Lulu, anchors the band with an intensity on drums that is way beyond her years.

GFM’s edgy sound resonates in the familiar dark corners of its metal genre; but with influencers like Wage War, Memphis May Fire, and Fit For a King, GFM’s lyrics infuse a positive energy. Through their individual journeys, GFM manages to blur the lines of the Christian sub-culture. Drawing its name from the original gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh, GFM proves that while the guitar’s distorted, the message is clear. The mission is spreading hope and strength to a dark and hurting age.

GFM’s current full-length album, "Identity Crisis" is available on all digital download websites including: iTunes, Spotify, Google Play, etc.

Lyrics:

Verse 1:

There’s a war inside me that I hide Trying to be something that I’m not Begging for a cure but my tongue is tied Screaming inside as I begin to rot

How can I help if I’m not broken
What kind of impact could I make
This is for those who remain unspoken

Listen to me you don’t have to break

Chorus:

You are worth more than you could ever know

I can see that you want more for your life
This pretending leaves you stranded alone

You don’t need these scars to help in this fight

Verse 2:

My heart may adjust to the dark

So save me before I lose myself

I cut the lies and press restart

I’m not here to be someone else

Chorus:

You are worth more than you could ever know I can see that you want more for your life
This pretending leaves you stranded alone You don’t need these scars to help in this fight

Bridge:

I see humans but there’s no humanity
We’ve lost our boundaries, lost our pride
Now we just exist and give into insanity

Drowning out our minds with the need to survive

Chorus 2x:

You are worth more than you could ever know

I can see that you want more for your life
This pretending leaves you stranded alone

You don’t need these scars to help in this fight
